Profile Setup
When you first open the app, you’ll be greeted with a welcome screen and instructions on how to setup your fitness profile. This profile describes your current level of fitness and helps you and the app create goals to improve your fitness, which will earn you gold within the game. Below is a screen-by-screen outline of the profile setup process.
Current Activities
Select all the activities that you currently do along with those you would like to start doing. Some activities are listed with qualifiers like “Time” or “Distance” which refer to how that activity is being measured. So if your goal is to run farther, select “Running (Distance)”, and if you want to run faster, select “Running (Time)”. Or if you want to do both, select both!
Current Activity Level
Once you’ve selected your activities, you’ll want to enter how much you currently workout for each activity. So if you currently cycle 2 hours a week and you’re just starting to do push-ups, use the seek bar or fine-tuning buttons to select “2 hours” for cycling and “0 reps” for push-ups.
Goal Setting
Now you’re ready to set your goals. Each goal has a level and a duration. The level is your workout target and the duration is when you want to accomplish it by. So say you’re just starting to run and 10 weeks from now, you want to be able to run 5 miles a week. You would use the seek bar and fine-tuning buttons to enter “5” as your level and type in “10” as your duration. This is your overall goal and once you’ve accomplished it, you’ll get a mountain of gold to spend in the game.
To help you get there, our app will divide your overall goal into weekly sub-goals for you to focus on. So if you want to get up to 5 miles in 10 weeks, your weekly goal will be to add half a mile of running to your routine each week. Every time you accomplish one of these weekly goals, you’ll get bonus gold. And if you keep meeting those goals, by the end of those 10 weeks, you’ll have accomplished your larger goal. If you don’t meet one of these weekly goals, no worries, it’ll become your goal for the next week instead. Just keep at it!
But what if you don’t want to set a goal? Maybe you’re already running a crazy fast 5k and you just want to keep doing what you’re doing. That’s cool. You do you. Just leave your level at your current workout level and enter whatever value you want for your duration.
