First time on the game page
Every new player to FitFrontier will enter into an identical game page after completing their fitness profile. The game page consists of several components which are: the navigation drawer, the map/grid, and the store icons. Every player starts with an identical starting map with 1 basic farm, 1 basic house, 2 people in your city, and 100 gold to purchase other items. This screen is what your city will look like:
Game Overview
FitFrontier is a game designed to help you stay fit or get fit, in a fun and approachable way. The premise of the game is a city simulation. You start out will a basic city, and your goal is to increase your city's population as much as possible. In order to do so, you'll need to work out and enter your fitness data. Every day that you enter any fitness data, you will receive 10 gold to spend in the 3 stores., as well as a variable number of citizens which are automatically added to your city.
Every week, FitFrontier will automatically calculate a "subgaol" for each of your activities, based on the goal and duration you entered during setup. Meeting a weekly subgoal by a specified date for any activity will result in an award of additional gold to your account.
But why care about buying items? Once the game is started, your city is just waiting to be attacked. Attacks can destroy people, farms, houses, or forts. By upgrading your city, you can minimize damage to your city. By purchasing forts, the strengths of attacks are weakened. The attacks are semi-random and will happen every ~2-3 days.
Entering a workout
Swiping from off screen from left to right or clicking the FitFrontier logo anywhere in the app will reveal the navigation drawer with all of the pages in the app:
To enter a workout, reveal the navigation drawer and click "Workout Entry" to display the following screen:
After doing your workout, enter the time/distance/reps for each activity by either sliding the progress bar or using the -/+ buttons for more fine adjustment. Timed activities can be entered in 15 minute intervals, and distance activities can be entered in 1/4 mile intervals.
Once you've entered all of your data, click the Confirm button. You'll notice the app checks if you're sure the data is correct before proceeding. Once you've confirmed, you'll be presented with a dialog displaying how many gold you received and how many citizens were added to your city. Note, that you will only be awarded gold and citizens once per day regardless of how many individual workouts you enter.

Spending gold
You can spend gold however you wish to add 3 different types of objects to your city. You can add houses, farms, and forts to your city. Each type of building has specific qualities, a cost, and a minimum population to purchase. The stores all look pretty similar and are accessed by touching the respective icon on the bottom of the game page:
You'll notice that any building you cannot afford is greyed out. If you can afford a building, it's image is not greyed out. If you decide you want an item, simply click the item, and you're brought back to the game page. You'll see the action bar title has changed to "select a position to place an object." Now, just tap any unoccupied space on your map to place an object. Locations do not affect game play whatsoever.
After buying an item, you'll notice that the cost (in gold) is removed from your account. In addition, you'll notice if you purchase a house, your city's population will increase. There are more details of the specifics of each object type in the next section
Object Details
As mentioned previously, there are farms, houses, and forts and each serves a unique purpose.
Purchasing farms helps increase citizens to your city at a faster rate. By upgrading your city with more farms, you'll notice that every time you workout, your city's population will increase faster. Note however, that if your city's population is at capacity or exceeds its capacity, you will not receive any more citizens from working out until the population capacity is raised. More expensive farms will increase your population faster.
Purchasing houses will increase the population capacity of the city. If your city's population is close to its capacity, consider buying houses before farms so you will receive more citizens for working out. More expensive buildings will raise your capacity by a larger amount.
Forts will help protect your city during attacks. If your city is attacked, forts will limit the damage done. The more expensive the fort, the more damage it can prevent.
Attacks
Your city will be attacked on a semi-random basis every 2-3 days. Anytime your city is attacked, you'll get a push notification letting you know. However, the details of the attack are concealed until you open up the app. When that happens, a dialog pops up telling you the details of the attack.
